Creating critters and pinch pots at Chill/Create

Our first Chill/Create session on Sunday went well with members getting stuck in to building with air dry clay, freestyle sculpting real and imagined creatures from snails to dragons and totem pole monsters. There was even one beheaded man lounging on a chaise longue. 'I went for Greek tragedy,' said the artiste.
This goes to show what happens when prompting an imaginative bunch to make little pinch pots and flower vases. 'Just let the clay speak to you,' one member quipped whilst moulding a shoe-creature. 'I've never done anything like this before!' said another who went on to hand-build an elaborate fantastical beast. 'You think you know what something looks like until you start to make it without prompts,' said the snail sculptor extraordinaire.
There was much laughter, much blethering and all hands completely coated in white clay by the end of the session. We may need bibs for when the paints get cracked out next time.
Big thank you to Cake or Dice for allowing us the use of their space!
